False Witness

According to the United States of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation, false criminal allegations are reported for the following reasons:

  • Mental Illness/Depression
  • Attention/Sympathy
  • Financial Profit
  • Alibi
  • Revenge

Individual situations could involve multiple motives of those mentioned above. Our reality stands upon a foundation of blocks equating to actual events and truth. Our perception is our understanding of those events. The ethical makeup of the person putting forth testimony will determine how close their reported testimony is to their perception of the truth. False Allegations are a form of psychopathic social manipulation for personal gain showing no compassion or empathy for the loss of liberty and quality of life for those involved.

It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that the rights of everyone are upheld and that the innocent are protected. Everyone is innocent until they are proven guilty. When someone is convicted, or their life is destroyed by false allegations. That is as equal a crime as the one they were falsely accused of. Humanity needs to strive to hold individuals putting forth false testimony just as accountable to the law as the laws they testified or communicated publicly were broken.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”
