
How many lies must be told to protect a perceived greater good before we manifest a lesser evil? Deceit does not protect the declaratory conscience of a republic; it only protects those who feel entitled to administer it.

When evidence indicates, a law enforcement officer believes their service and sacrifices entitles them to be above the law. At the same time, evidence indicates they execute actions to protect themselves from being held accountable for their historical conduct while arresting others based on evidence of their activities.
Entitlement leads to Corruption. Corruption leads to Evidence. Evidence leads to Calibration.
The study of ethics is a pursuit of understanding the philosophical nature of right and wrong in its most perfect form. A society’s justice system is an ever-evolving pursuit of that perfection. Corruption is the cultural, political, or personal bias that overrules and interferes with that system.
