The Spirit is Willing, but the Flesh is Weak

Having the courage to speak the truth while standing in the light does not manifest a paradigm free of anxiety, insecurity, or fear.

It produces evidence that we have placed our souls in the hands of Jesus Christ and embraced the path in front of us, knowing the final destination this world has prepared for us.

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”

Holy Bible, International Version, Matthew 26:40-42

I do not believe Christianity is a once-a-week social gathering. It is a daily commitment to protecting and helping the least among us trapped in darkness. Although I am trapped in darkness, it is not enough for me alone to navigate myself from this place. I must forge a path to help others in the name of Jesus Christ.

40The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Holy Bible, International Version, Matthew 25:40

17This is my command: Love each other.

18If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.

19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

20Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Holy Bible, International Version, John 15:17-20
